Sims 3 sim dying for weeks?

I had this sim called Katie Pistachio and I killed her off by dragging down her hunger bar but the Grim Reaper had already moved in with me so he wasn't appearing to take her away and she stayed dying for like a week and I couldn't play as her but her icon was still with the rest of my family so in the end I used moveobjects on cheat and deleted her but it still says she's part of my family and dying so I can't go into edit town mode to get rid of her. Anyone know how I actually get rid of her?
